Good work in an age of AI
Artificial Intelligence and other algorithmic systems are transforming work, management and models of business across all sectors. With support from the Trades Union Congress and Alex Ferry Foundation the Institute for the Future of Work has developed guidance designed to involve workers in the anticipation of risks and opportunities, the actions to mitigate those risks and maximise the benefits of any opportunities for workers, and in the ongoing monitoring of these new systems.
Two versions of the Good Work Algorithmic Impact Assessment (GWAIA) guide have been published. Firstly, An overview for workplace representatives is a practical guide designed to equip TUC reps to undertake the GWAIA process. And secondly, the comprehensive guide A partnership approach lays out the legal underpinning for the process, and how it can be used in a collective bargaining process.
Both guides combine illustration and typography to create an approachable and clear design. The illustrations complement the narrative, helping to steer clear of AI stereotypes.
